When code and design come together: a semi-automated Design System

The primary goal of a Design System is to create a shared language between designers and developers. It sounds simple, but once implementation begins, countless challenges and questions quickly emerge. How can we keep our Figma components synchronized with the developed ones? Is it possible for a single design system to support multiple products with completely different visual identities? How should changes be managed? Can a modification made by a designer in Figma be reflected in the product almost automatically?
